Just hangin' out

Kind of a random post, but I have a bunch of cute pics that don't really fit into anything specific so here you go. Lately Caysja's favorite thing is to read stories to Crew. It's so sweet. She is a wonderful big sister to him. Our weather has suddenly gotten REALLY HOT here (like yesterday it was 109 degrees!) so we've been staying inside a lot more.

These are Caysja's most favorite toys. She LOVES to put her baby to bed in the crib and then put her in the high chair to feed her.

Such a classic! This is what Caysja looks like most Sundays at the dinner table. We have late church and by the time we get home she is just exhausted! She often falls asleep while eating.

Caysja has Caleb's temperment--HIGH ENERGY! She loves to jump all over the funiture and lately to jump from couch to couch!

Caleb has finals this week and then we can't wait to go home to Idaho for two weeks!

Happy Mother's Day!

I just wanted to pay tribute today to the two Mothers in my life--my mother-in-law, Lorna, and my mom, Jilene. I love you both so much! Everything I know about being a mother I learned from your wonderful examples. Thank you for always being there for me. I hope one day I can learn to be the kind of amazing mother/grandmother you both are. HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!

I love my two kids more than words can say. What a privilege it is to be be a mother. May I never take it for granted.

Just to say I love you

Caleb took me on the sweetest date a couple weeks ago. He told me were going on a hike up Thunderbird mountain but when we got to the park, this is what I found. (He has sent his friend Isac over earlier with everything to put out on the table.) Caleb thought of everything--take-out from Bajio, roses, candles, sparkling cider...needless to say I was so surprised!

After dinner we made s'mores by "roasting" marshmallows over our little propane heater. So creative--and it actually worked great! (Crew's still too little leave with the baby-sitter so he got to come along for the ride.)

My Crewser Man

I decided it was high time I did an update on Crew. He is truly a "dream baby". He is perfect in just about every way (...he still spits up a lot...). I just looked at these pictures and all but three are of him sleeping--which is pretty much what he does a lot of--even at four months! In fact, he has been sleeping so well lately that I decided it was time to stick my kids together in the same room...which was a little rough the first few nights, (they kept waking each other up!) but the past 3-4 nights it's gone a lot better. (It has to work out since we only have two bedrooms and he's getting too big for our walk-in closet where he has been up to this point!)

Don't you just wish you could stop time when babies are little? They grow up TOO fast! I can't wait for my family to see him when we go home in May. He has changed a lot in four months. Lately he's found his hands. He loves to look at them and suck on them. His favorite person by far is his sister. She can make him laugh better than anyone else. He looks at her and just grins and grins. He literally adores her. We love you, Crewser Man!

Pump It Up!

Okay...yet another post that I forgot to blog about. Several weeks ago we went to Pump It UP with some friends of ours. It's this big blow-up slide/jumping place. As you can see the kids all had a blast and us mom did too! Thanks for going with us, guys!

My friend Britni was amazing! Here she is, 8 months preggo and still going down the slide with the girls! You're awesome, Britini. I'm so glad that didn't induce early labor!

Arizona Museum for Youth

So yeah...these pictures are a little old...I kept on forgetting to put them on my blog. When my parents were here in March, we went to the Arizona Museum for Youth in Mesa. It was smaller than I had expected, but we still had a fun time together and Caysja loved it.

Milestones

Well, I don't know if it counts as a milestone or not, but here's a pic of our little "thumb sucker". (Oh, and I never should have posted about Crew sleeping so well...the last four nights he's gotten up at 5 am...go figure!)

Crew is holding up his head so well now that we decided to get out the little jumper. Even though he can't really jump yet, he still thought it was fun to sit in it. I think he looks like a little green frog! ( I'm so bummed...his hair is falling out and coming in blond. I really, really wanted a little brunette! Oh well.)

I think it's a pretty big milestone when your kids learn to ride a bike for the first time. I have been looking and looking for a bike for Caysja and I finally found one at a garage sale last week for only $10. It is just PERFECT and she loves it! Notice the baby seat on the back...her favorite part. She is doing SO well riding it too! I was going to save it for her third birthday in about a month, but where was I supposed to hide a bike? (How can she be old enough to ride a bike already?)

Caysja refused to wear her helmet because I accidently pinched her chin once when putting it on her, but Daddy convinced her that wearing your helmet is the "cool" thing to do!

(I'm so bummed that this picture turned out so blurry. I have no idea what I did wrong when I took it.) Recently Caysja's hair is finally long enough that I can do french braids in it and it's SO CUTE! That's a pretty big milestone since she had hardly any hair for sooooo long. I love it!! I've waited my whole life to have a little girl with long hair that I could braid like I used to braid my Barbie's hair.
