Swimming Lessons!

Today was Caysja's last day of swimming lessons and I'm so bummed because I actually remembered to bring my camera, but then realized that the battery was at home, charging up! Oh well. I'm so proud of her! She did a great job. We took a little "mommy and me" class together at the local Aquatics Center and she learned quite a few things. They taught her how to:

  • Float on her back (with my help of course)
  • Float on her tummy (with help)
  • Blow bubbles (she already knew that one)
  • Jump off the side of the pool (already knew that one too)
  • Climb alongside the edge of the pool and pull herself out
  • Kick her legs
  • Wear a life jacket correctly
  • Use a kick board
The class was super cheap too--only $10 for 9 lessons! Since it was the last day and they let the kids play on the slides and kiddie toys and then gave them each a certificate and popsicle. Good job Caysja!

We've also been going to the local "Water World" a lot lately, which is a lot like Utah's Raging Waters. We decided it was so fun that we might as well buy a season pass. We've been there three times and each time I've forgotten to bring my camera, but I promise the next time we go I will remember it and then I'll post lots of pictures. The wave pool is the best! What else is there to do when it's 115+ outside!?

Criscell, I really want to get my girls in swimming lessons. They're building a new pool area near our house, but it's not quite done. The girls are sooo excited. Tell me, How do you actually survive 115+ heat? I really wonder how that's possible.

sounds like quite a deal for $10. can't beat that. that's cute that you get to do it with her. i bet that makes her more comfortable. that chicken noodle soup sounds so good. i think i need the recipe.

Where do you get your blog backgrounds? They are really nice!

P.S. Can you imagine being prego in that kind of heat?! (ack) Whoever has babies in that end of the country deserves a first class ticket to the pearly gates in heaven ;)

I. Would. Melt. Period. If I were pregnant, I would DIE. No joke! Aaahhh, I wish we had a water park here with decent season pass prices. The Ross park swimming park is nice, but not anything to pay the $200+ they want for a family pass. SOOOO jealous and can't wait for pics! Good job swimming, Cays! And I got your thank you note, just seeing your hand writing and knowing that I got real mail totally made my day! Thanks :-)

Yeah, it is not fun being here when it is so hot, but that water park is really really fun. I am glad that Caysja did so well in swimming lessons!

Yipee for cheap swimming lessons! You guys are welcome to come over to our pool anytime. We started having our ward playgroups at the pool. I will let you know when the next one is and you guys can come over. Ohh and I switched over to Dr. McKernan. He is great!

I can't wait to take Audrey to swimming lessons next summer! I think she'll do better with it when she is a little older.
Thanks for coming to her party on Friday! That was very sweet for you and Caysja to come! And I had such a BLAST at 'Girls Night Out'! We'll have to do that more often:-)

That's awesome she's able to do so much in the water. I've been wanting to put Kenedee in lessons this summer but don't think that will happening. I bet you'll be living in the water this summer with that weather!
