I'm a little behind...

So, I'm a little behind on my blogging lately. Seems like I hardly have time to get on the computer anymore, thanks to my two and half year old who has officially decided that she is done taking naps! I am SO bummed!!!! We are going on 18 days or so now with no naps and I can't begin to say how sad I am. That was the time I used to blog, scrapbook, clean my house, oh, and most importantly take a much-needed nap now and then!! I was so sleep-deprived the other day I would have done nearly anything to get Caysja to take a nap so that I could too, but to no avail. She is just not tired at that time anymore. Oh, and she's getting up a lot more in the middle of the night and coming into our room. Anyone have any suggestions for me? I feel like I never catch up on sleep.

On another note, Crew will be six weeks tomorrow and I can't believe he's that old already!! Time just has flown by. He is such a little snuggle bug. I love it! He loves to be held, rocked, kissed and hugged. Yesterday he smiled for the first time! Caleb was holding him after I'd nursed him (he was pretty content with life at the moment) and he looked right into his daddy's eyes and broke into a beautiful grin. I just love him to pieces! His dark hair seems to be staying dark for the time being and I hope it stays that way. We have officially found a nickname for him. He's our little "Crewser". It's so cute to hear Caysja say it. I promise to post more pictures soon.

I have to add that the weather here in AZ is just gorgeous in January! This is when I think to myself, "yes, I could live here permanently"...and then April comes and I remember why I can't live here afterall. We have been going to the park, on walks or swimming nearly every day. The temperature is usually just about perfect. We have to take advantage of it now before it's too hot to go anywhere! I've seriously forgotten what the snow is like at home in Idaho.

You guys are such a darling little family!
As for the name Kiari, Trent came up with it. I was ready to name her Sierra and Trent let me know how much he liked Kiari so I caved and that's what we went with.
i'm so jealous of your beautiful AZ weather!!!

Welcome to my life of no naps! You can do it. Actually why don't you just bring Cayjsa over here to play with Zina and then you and Crew can go home and do whatever you want. Yep. That's the solution right there. :) Seriously.

We are having the same exact problem in my house!!!!!!! Taylie will not have a nap for anything, the only reason why she had a nap yesterday was cause she was sick so I gave her a bath and Tylenol and even then it was a struggle! I so feel your pain haha

Oh I loved nap time. When Sadie quit taking naps I had her have "quiet time" during the time she used to have her naps. She was so excited that she didn't have to take a nap that she didn't mind watching a movie. Then I still got my time.

My two girls won't take naps anymore either. That was my free time, and I still miss it, but you do adjust. Try to use the time that she took naps to have a queist time, or one-on-one time with her. Especially with the new baby in your home, she is probably looking for every excuse to get a little more attention from mommy and daddy. Try making it a learning/development hour or something where she really grows and develops mentally and learns to trust you. It could be while Crew is sleeping so that there is no distraction and it's just your special time together. Do it sitting down, and make it a relaxing time for you too! I believe time like this will give you some rest, but also a deeper love between the two of you.

I love that nickname BTW! Dave came up with one by accident when our little Caleb was born, and it still sticks: "Ca-lobster" :)

I meant to say quiet time, not queist time!

I am so sorry to hear about no naps. That is horrible. I would agree that quite time is a great time. Addie still naps, but sometimes she won't so I set a timer and tell her she can't come out until the timer goes off. Good luck!

How fun. I can't believe he is 6 weeks old already. It's seems like you just had him. I love his dark hair too. I hope he keeps it. I'm sorry Caysja won't take naps. Maybe it's a phase and she'll go back to being tired again:) Wishful thinking I know. I need to thank you and Alissa again for making me lunch on my birthday. It was so sweet and so yummy. I had a lot of fun. Can't wait til tonight.

It was so fun to see you guys today at Music Makers. YOu look so GOOD! YOur little guy is so handsome and Ilove the dark hair. I don't know what I would do without LIlly's nap time. Sorry. Good luck with all the the craziness and sleeping time. We still go through LIlly waking up in the middle of the night too. They are just go getters that want to be awake and partying at all times.

You asked about the dance class. We go to the Tiny Tots class at the REc. Center. Its 57 dollars for 8 weeks one day a week. Pretty good. I know at the YMCA they have classes, but not sure if you have to be a member or not. I think Music Makers is better than the dance class we are in right now to tell you the truth.

Hey NO WORRIES...you have a good excuse for being a little behind. I'm sorry to hear about Cayjsa not taking anymore naps...thats got to be really tough. If you ever need a break, PLEASE let me watch her for a couple hours...that way you can get your nap, blog, or anything else you want to get done, done! And I'm also LOVING this 60/70 degree weather here in AZ. I truly could come back here and live for a good while too. But we'll see what I think after my second summer here. I'm sure I'll change my mind again:-)

Once you all get into a schedule things will get easier and you'll find time. I would love a little warmth on the bus but love the white snow that covers the ground and makes a beautiful picture. Read any good books latlely...sorry you'll need to make time for this. Miss you!

So sorry that you little girl isn't napping anymore. Charley quit napping a couple of months before Brodi was born and that was when I needed the nap time the most. I was so bummed! But you do get used to it. I've just tried to have quiet time everyday with her while Brodi is taking a nap in the afternoon-it makes her feel much more special, and I enjoy having one on one time with her again.

Ah, yes, I remember when MaryAnn decided to stop taking naps!! I wanted to CRY! Luckily, Sara is almost 3 1/2 and still takes naps (knock on wood!) and MaryAnn has 'quiet time' where she does whatever she wants as long as its quiet (because I NEED a nap!!) As for nights...I'd just take her right back to her room--eventually she'll figure out that's where she's supposed to stay (theoretically). I can't believe Crew is 6 weeks already (and I only have 6 weeks to go!!!) Time flies!

I am SO lucky that Sam still naps! She took a 3 hour one yesterday and a 2.5 hour one today and she'll be 4 in April. However, she has gone through several phases of threatening to give up naps, and Cory and I decided that when she gives up naps for real, we'll buy her a special alarm clock and she will have 'quiet time' in her room for 1 hour a day, where she doesn't have to sleep, but she can't be all over the place either and when the alarm goes off (I'm thinking a CD player clock so she can wake up to Mulan or Mary Poppins) she can come out. That will give me time to get things done. About the night waking, if Sam gets out of bed, she MUST try going to the bathroom first, and then back to bed, no conversation other than "I love you, night night" Is she getting up because Crew is waking?

I am so glad you did a post. It's so good to hear what is going on. I am sorry about Cayjsa, not sleeping well, if I hear of any suggests I will let you know. But other wise I have no idea sorry. I can't wait to see pictures.

Have you already blessed Crew? If not when are you going to? Let us know we might be able to come.

We need to plan a week or weekend when we or just me can come and visit. Now that we have free flights, we would love to come see you guys and hang out.

I am so glad you haven't blessed Crew yet. That would be great if yours and Caleb's parents could make it. The third week in March is the 15th, Right? What time is your church at? I think we might be able to come. We are open that weekend so that is good. But, it would have to depend on what time your church is at and the flights coming out of AZ to Atlanta on that Sunday cause Ryan has to be back for work on Monday. I will check into it today though. Just let us know for sure what weekend. We could come on that Friday before then leave that Sunday after the blessing. We would love to be there for you guys, and hang out for the weekend as well. Oh I am so excited.

Criscell - Congratulations on your new little boy...I'm sorry we are 6 weeks behind on congratulating you! Our computer has been down for over a month and I'm way behind on tons of news! Carlos and I found out that we will be having a little boy in May. As far as the frustrations with Caysja's naps...I totally relate...Corina's not taking them anymore either. I wish you luck! :) Anne
