Christmas Memories 2011

MERRY CHRISTMAS 2011

Christmas really is so magical with kids.  I just love that my kids are starting to understand it all now.   It makes it so fun.  We spent Christmas Eve at Caleb's brother Kyle's house in Centerville.  They were so nice to invite us over.
We played the "left - right" game with white elephant gifts
Danced, sang and were generally silly
Decorated sugar cookies for Santa to eat that night
Played Rock Band
Crew LOVED playing the drums
Came home, read Luke 2 and "The Night Before Christmas"
Left a note for Santa (which Caysja wrote all by herself) cookies, and carrots for the reindeer
Christmas morning...

The kids woke up around 7 am at their normal time (luckily for us).  Caysja was so shocked to see her doll house!  "I just LOVE it, Mom--it's so PINK!"
Crew got a  train table
(Mrs. Clause looked for months and months on KSL--Utah's version of Craig's List--to get some great deals on these items.  Both of them had slight things that were broken, but luckily kids don't even notice!
Santa didn't bring much for Capri, but she gets to play with both of her sibling's toys!  Oh the joy of being the baby.
"Littlest Pet Shops!  Santa got my letter!"
"Santa brought me Lightening McQueen glasses!"
I made Crew a scripture bag since he's going to be a Sunbeam on Jan. 1

Playing with the remote control truck--does daddy or Crew like it better?
I have to say that I loved having Christmas on a Sunday because it helped remind us of the true meaning of Christmas.  That said,  it did make our morning super busy and a little stressful!  After opening presents, I rushed to make breakfast and then get the kids all ready for church.  I had to be there early because I was singing in sacrament mtg. so I left and Caleb brought the kids later. We tried to take a family picture before church, but you can see how well that worked out.  This was all we got!  As soon as we got home from church we cleaned the house and packed up in one hour in order to leave for Idaho Falls and be there in time for the Roberts' family progressive dinner.  I don't think I have ever packed for myself and three kids in under an hour!  The only thing I forgot was Caysja's socks!
First we had appetizers at Kynda and Eric's house, followed by the main course at Caleb's parent's house, and then dessert after that at Jacob and Marisa's house.  They were so nice to invite my parents as well as my sister, her husband and my grandpa too.  It was so fun to see everyone and the food was delicious!

Christmas evening we had round #2 of presents at my parent's house.  They gave my kids wiggle cars!  (A super sale from Black Friday.)

Aunt Chalise made Kiki this beautiful necklace and this shirt for me.  She is one talented lady!!

A Lightening McQueen pillow pet!!  Thanks, Grandma and Grandpa!
My grandpa and Caysja
Priesie got this cute little tiger and she immediately buried her face in its soft fur.

Love this handsome guy

These are the stockings I made this year with my sister Chalise's help.  I really like how they turned out!  Thanks, Liesie!

What a fun Christmas. That's awesome that you got all packed up in an hour. That's amazing. You have to tell me how you made the stockings. Travis told me this year that I needed to make stockings for our family. He's tired of the $1 store ones:) What a neat tradition to do a progressive dinner as a family. The kids look like they had such a great christmas. Good job Caysja for writing Santa's letter all by yourself. Glad it was a great day. No baby yet. My Mom is only here til a week from Friday, so I'll ask my Dr. today at my appt. if she'll induce me on my due date (this Friday). I really hope I don't have to be induced, but oh well. Love you guys.
